  • How to use temporary tattoos in museums to generate curiosity amongst children in arts

custom_temporary_tattoos_concept_for_museums_in_singapore Convert the museum artwork into temporary tattoos and get the children interested in arts

Tattoos have been known to exist beside us since ages...only that their usage, types and the manifesting process has changed from time to time. Temporary tattoos came to a powerful posture in the 20th century with bubble gums offering them inside their packaging and that too free of cost. Kids endured it with all delight and eventually got crazy for it... I as a millennial is a living witness o this!

So, Tattoo for fun proposes quite a common way of indulgence for kids. Here let us not forget the fact that the children must definitely be engaged in some of the other learning processes. As all of us are aware that learning is not confined to any boundaries. It can come from almost any source. These days’ schools and teaching styles are inclined more towards practical ways of teaching and for this purpose excursion and visits to various educational places are a part of the curriculum.

However, there are various educational places which do not have the privilege to be interesting. Places like amusement parks have the fun quotient for children but what can one say about industrial visits like a local dairy factory, Museums or the famous garden. So, it is up to the guides and teachers to make these excursions happy and interesting ones. Temporary tattoos can be one beautiful way to engage children with not so interesting educational places. Distribution of temporary tattoos to children will encourage them to show interest in those places and eventually they would end up loving those places.

Ace temporary tattoo designers Adam and Imke are two people who have positively garnered the idea of converting not so lucrative in educational places into attractive temporary tattoos for children. They even showcased this talent at the Rijks Award 2017, under the name RijksTattoo's. The competition is based on the idea that you take some of the artworks from the museum and make something different with them. Temporary tattoos were Adam and Imke’s presentation under this competition. They converted the artworks into creatively designed temporary tattoos which were loved by the audience. This was one instance of how a boring museum visit of children could be transformed into an interesting one.

Not only museums but also places like historical monuments, botanical gardens, and process industries can be made lucrative for children to learn these things using the temporary tattoo concept. Educational institutions must cleverly gear up on this concept to gauge the attention of the even the distractive kiddos out there.

Gumtoo is highly obliged to designers Adam and Imke who shared their unique temporary design concept with us. We are inclined to being into a collaborative mood with educational institutions to provide more horizons to this concept.

  • Ang Pao Temporary Tattoos

The Chinese New year is a celebrated festival throughout the world. It is widely circulated as the “Spring Festival.” The festival as evident from its name marks the start of the Chinese calendar. The celebrations start from the New Year eve with the lighting of the traditional Chinese lantern. Chinese people have given the world the art of traditionally made lanterns which are beautiful and in this age used in almost every part of the world. It is an auspicious day for the Chinese community and a time to start afresh leaving the past behind. This January 28 is the day which will mark the start of the Chinese year; a rooster year. For the people of China, spring festival is the most important festival of the year and they have a line of rituals to perform during this celebration.

Ang Pao is one such ritual which is practiced by the Chinese community during the CNY celebrations. In English Ang Pao translates to “Red Envelope” and the tradition is to hand over money in red envelopes to young and unmarried people by the old and married ones. Now, red is the color of prosperity and good Luck in the Chinese culture. It is the color which represents China outside of China. This affiliation towards red by the Chinese makes the color a must for any special occasion, be it a baby shower, wedding or even New Year. The money inside the envelope ends with an even digit and does not include the number four in it.

Gumtoo decided to make this tradition even more exciting and lucrative for the younger generation. Tattoos are eventually loved by children of all age groups and Gumtoo decided to project this love along with these red envelopes which were handed over to them. This time we have come up with tattoos inside of red envelopes which could be used by elders to shower blessings on the younger ones. The tattoo-clad packets would be well received by the children and they will have double reason to rejoice; money which makes everyone happy and a tattoo which is a child's favourite. This engagement of kids makes sure that they are attached to their roots and near to their ethnic tradition.

Above was an in a general way to offer fun and engagement to children but Gumtoo has come up with a larger picture for the corporates of Singapore. Brands can take this way as an opportunity to have the odds in favor of them. They can back the tattoo giving inside red envelopes by sponsoring them and having their brand logo printed on the tattoo. By means of this Brands can reach more near to the common mass and as it is well said,” close to sight is close to mind.” Tattoo offering can drive a lot of audience to the red envelope and thus more attention to the brand.

Gumtoo is helping brands create a greater reach with its reliable and smart temporary tattoos. We invite more and more corporates to try the concept and make CNY a more memorable one.
